對A.. 800到1500年教會卻有進步,總是也有加添濟濟項的異端,無合聖冊的道理。也有濟濟毛病thang煩惱,教會內常常有人辯論,舉議著去邪歸正;in較濟hō͘ pà-pek較贏sòa害死。到A.. 1500-1600彼時情形較改換,人的心較開闊,國王較好膽,就在幾若國的人有改正教會,pà-pek無氣力thang阻止in,不過kā in革出;in就另外設教號做耶穌聖教。瑞士國,德國,英吉利,So͘-kat-lân,丹國,瑞典較濟屬耶穌教。其餘的國,以大利,西班牙,法蘭西,奧地利,Ai-ní-lân有執彼個舊款,降服Pà-pek,號做羅馬教抑是天主教。

(1)有人講國內的事lóng著歸tī國王管轄;因為國內bē得thang有兩個主,的確lóng著降服一個主才有規矩。從中教會猶就按呢,認國王做伊的頭;教會內的事著hō͘國王設法。英國的皇家教差不多是按呢。人叫做Í-lah-to͘的教;Í-lah-to͘是瑞士國的先生,A.. 1524-1583,有講這號的道理。

(2)有人講教會khah大國家,親像靈魂khah大身軀。這是天主教的道理。因為救主有託pà-pek替伊料理萬項事,所以眾人著降服伊;國王也著認教王做伊的序大,hō͘伊封做國王。天主教的先生來中國gâu chhap事,kiám-chhái因為in信這個道理。

(3)照咱講,教會kap國家lóng是上帝設立的;一項做一項的路用;兩pêng lóng著盡in的本份無過分;著相降服,m̄-thang相插。人若做歹犯法,官府kap教會著另外查,也著另外罰。人做甘篤抑是牧師抑是和尚抑是生理人,tī官府的面前平平是百姓,若做賊抑是刣人lóng著hō͘伊辦;in bē得推辭,靠教會的勢,m̄肯hō͘伊辦。官府若入教伊也算是兄弟無各樣做的人;伊若犯法著降服長老會的苦勸抑是禁晚餐,m̄-thang看輕長老,因為in是平常的百姓。兩pêng辦人的罪著照本份辦:官府thang罰金,關監,刣頭,bē得thang禁晚餐:教會thang禁晚餐,革出,lut教會的職,bē得thang phah抑是關監。兩pêng也著另外查,另外罰。人若告牧師做賊,官府辦若是有影,就著罰金抑是關監。教會若辦是無影iáu-kú bē會救伊出監,不過無lut伊的職,聽候伊出監就猶原thang做牧師;兩pêng也m̄-thang相嫌,所以牧師抑是神父nā chhap事,免得兄弟hō͘官府照國法辦,這m̄-nā得罪官府,也是犯著聖冊的道理,得罪上帝,陷害教會。

A.. 1000 gōa年pà-pek kap國王冤家,卻無的確逐擺是pà-pek m̄著;有時國王m̄好,愛窘逐教會。國王卻khah 猛,有兵thang phah羅馬;m̄-kú百姓真驚pà-pek,因為伊m̄-nā有權thang害in的身軀,也會害in的靈魂到地獄。所以國王若hō͘ pà-pek革出,伊的百姓有的m̄敢為伊,驚了平平受革。國王若m̄肯降服,pà-pek有時禁thong國的百姓,m̄准人tī-hia聚集禮拜。In的禮拜堂lóng著關;神父無行洗禮,無守晚餐;人若破病in無去kap伊禮拜,人若死也無kā伊送葬。直到人擋bē-tiâu,姑不將著去降服。

彼時代誌也較參插,較無親像今á日的分明。譬如來講:彼時教會的產業真開闊,逐國lóng有;hit-tah的業是hō͘甘篤頭管轄,直到in變作親像諸侯的額,著納租hō͘國王也著chhōa兵去贊伊。甘篤頭若死,pà-pek愛揀新的甘篤頭來設立伊;m̄-kú國王也愛揀人,因為in是伊的諸侯;有時愛計較。有時甘篤死國王就去收伊的租,聽候新的來hō͘伊設立。Pà-pek也有時來討;對按呢快快有毛病。

Hiân-lí 少年的時無甚麼受教示,到大漢做王的時,濟濟人嫌伊,m̄肯降服。Pà-pek叫伊去羅馬,hō͘伊審判。伊真受氣,聚集大會,議定pà-pek bē堪得當職。Pà-pek就kā伊革出,講百姓m̄免降服伊。國內liâm-piⁿ真亂。A.. 1077冬天的時,Hiân-lí去以大利chhōe pà-pek。Pà-pek有去內山的所在,名Ka-lô͘-sa。Pà-pek m̄接納伊;皇帝就三日久,褪赤腳,穿一領衫,徛tī外埕tī霜雪的中間teh哭。後來pà-pek接納伊,赦免伊。總是hiah-ê諸侯已經揀別人做皇帝,pà-pek也准;koh革出Hiân-lí。M̄-kú Hiân-lí較贏伊的對敵來刣伊;入以大利,phah羅馬,用Lâ-hūi-ná的甘篤頭做pà-pek,hō͘伊設伊做皇帝。Pà-pek Kiat-khó-le̍k暗靜走,過年死tī Sa-liân-o。(現時人若kap pà-pek計較sòa輸伊,就用hit-ê古典來講,彼個人去Ka-lô͘-sa。)

Pà-pek I-lō͘-sim-tek有叫大會tī羅馬城La-tek-lân皇宮聚集,A.. 1215;是第一鬧熱的大會,有2000 gōa人來赴會。彼時康士旦丁城也暫時降服西pêng。Chit-pang大會不止降服pà-pek。也有議定彌撒變質的道理,以及百姓的確著對神父認罪chiàⁿ thang得著赦免。

也有設兩個會,就是Tô͘-bîn-nî-kan會kap Hōan-se-kan會。入會的人下啥願。(1)無娶某。(2)無事業。(3)逐項事lóng趁in序大。這號會的人是tú-tú親像修道人,因為in無蹛tī分別所;in四界行,佈道,kap人交陪;原本真熱心,好意思,後來較無。In贊pà-pek的權,因為無論到佗位in lóng直直降服pà-pek,in無降服彼所在的甘篤。

彼時也嚴嚴設法thang除去邪教。甘篤逐年著斟酌查,叫in的百姓著咒誓;若有thang憢疑,就彼個人著禁,若禁一年久無反悔認錯,就著革出,人若hō͘ in革出,官府著辦彼號人,彼̍是絞死抑是燒死。國王若m̄甘願剿滅彼號人,抑著hō͘教會革出。國王若一年久無反悔來降伏,就kā伊lut職;隔壁盡忠ê國王thang去占伊的國。差不多1233有設O-chhat會來成這個意思,交代Tô͘-bîn-nî-kan會的人辦。彼個會真厲害,查考代誌lóng無照公道。雖然無憑據iáu-kú會掠人關監,用酷刑的法勉強in認罪,sòa供著別人。Tī 1481 koh再設置西班牙;對彼時到1517,就是三十六年的中間,人算有1,3000人燒死,也有17,0000人另外罰。以大利kap西班牙的歸正教hō͘伊剿滅去。A.. 1820 tī西班牙廢無去。A.. 1870 tī以大利soah。彼兩國這霎teh衰微,濟濟是對O-chhat會害in。因為伊所窘逐的人較濟是彼號gâu格理的,較活動的,做生理的人。O-chhat會設tī西班牙的時國內的人額有1000,0000人,七十年後chhun 600,0000人nā-tiāⁿ,tī英國無設立;tī法國有設,總是較無親像西班牙的款式。(論O-chhat會看聖會史記II,第46-51面。)

羅馬教愛設一項的法度,就是in當職的人若犯法,或是做賊抑是刣死人,in著hō͘ in的序大辦,m̄-thang hō͘官府辦。照in講聖人hō͘平常人刑罰,kiám-chhái縛抑是phah抑是吊,是真無合,是凌辱耶穌。Tī英國為著這個代誌有大攪擾。國王Hiân-lí II(1154-1189)kap伊的大臣tī A.. 1164有設幾若項的法度,thang料理這個代誌;因為彼時風俗真歹。M̄-kú Kam-tek-phó-lī城的甘篤頭,O-pí-kiat To-má,m̄肯順趁。其餘的甘篤有的甘願趁;O-pí-kiat走去法國,hō͘法國的國王接納伊。Tī-hia革出伊的對敵,也差不多欲革出國王,m̄-kú pà-pek亞歷山太III m̄肯。因為彼時德國的皇帝,腓德烈,有另外設一個pà-pek,常常招英國王去為伊。Hiân-lí kap伊的百姓卻無愛去趁伊,總是若hō͘ pà-pek革出,就的確欲去。M̄-kú O-pí-kiat lóng無聽苦勸,直直迫人,致到國內真亂,諸侯有的差不多欲反叛。Hiân-lí王真煩惱;bat一擺受氣講,我的人臣beh-thái lóng小膽的人,無一個有才調thang救我脫離這個下賤祭司的手?四個大臣聽見暗靜去Kam-tek-phó-lī,刣死O-pí-kiat tī大間的禮拜堂內。伊彼黨的人真m̄甘願;無偌久四界講O-pí-kiat有對in發現,teh行濟濟各樣的神跡。Hiân-lí的對敵也順機會起兵欲phah伊。伊對pà-pek認錯,kap伊參詳著怎樣設法;後來國王去到Kam-tek-phó-lī,穿麻衫,褪赤腳行到O-pí-kiat的墓,tī-hia認罪下願,hō͘甘篤,神父,修道人,計共80 gōa人,用皮鞭phah伊。一日一暝坐tī-hia,無食也無睏,hō͘百姓來看。Tùi按呢大家體貼伊,無嫌伊;伊就去贏伊的對敵,照顧伊的國。可惜伊的某囝反叛;從中一個是頂面所講的約翰。

A.. 500+有一個修道人Tāi-o͘-nî-se-o͘ ()著一本冊,記各大會所議定的事。(原本講究來設西曆,用主耶穌出世做元年,就是這個人)。伊有將羅馬甘篤所寫的批記tī彼中間,第一早的屬tī A.. 385。Pà-pek看見這本冊真歡喜,因為in的批kap大會所議定有排做伙,若親像平平有權。A.. . 630人有koh出一本添補幾若張;講是西班牙出名的甘篤I-sī-to所備辦的。彼本所記的káⁿ lóng實的較濟。總是A.. . 840有人tī法國koh加添chiâⁿ百張猶原是用I-sī-to的名。Chiah-ê所加添的較濟是假的;親像一張是Hûi-tek (A.. 190-202)寄hō͘ Thê-o-hui-lô (A.. 400)。從中有的是屬tī使徒的時陣,若準親像彼時pà-pek已經teh管轄thong教會;Kam-tiám-teng將國權送pà-pek,彼張字也記tī-hia。這本冊著了,人liâm-piⁿ信來降服;對按呢pà-pek的權嶄然較大;in ná久ná僭權濟濟是倚靠這本的話。到歸正的時陣人講究來知所記載lóng是假作的較濟:天主教的人也m̄敢諍無。

2. 第二項的毛病就是所傳的道理有錯(看第1面)。從中第一厲害就是教士僭權做祭司,做中保。舊約的時有祭司;新約無,耶穌是祭司長,伊的百姓lóng平平做祭司。(希伯來4:15,16,希伯來10:11,12,I彼得2:5,9,默示錄1:6)。照in講,百姓著對祭司認罪來hō͘伊赦免,m̄-thang家己看聖冊,著聽神父的道理,若無kap祭司合就是離開上帝。

對按呢也有聖體化質的錯;因為有祭司著有祭祀(希伯來8:3)。這個道理無記tī聖冊,較早的教士也無講。頭一擺講明就是A.. 844,有一人La̍t-bé-to͘()講按呢。彼時有人辯駁講餅kap酒不過是譬喻基督的肉kap血(Í-lī-jî-nâ,);後來瑞士國歸正的先生Sū-eng-lī也有講按呢。也有人La̍t-lân-o͘()講,食餅的時陣主的肉tī-teh hō͘信的人食(約翰6:53-58)。這個較親像Kap-lîm的道理。路得講iáu-kú較重,講主的身軀實在saⁿ-kap tī-teh,m̄-nā對人的信。照羅馬教的道理,祭司獻耶穌的身軀tī壇頂來贖人的罪,百姓著跪落去拜。Tùi按呢祭司的權真大。A.. 1215 La-tek-lân的大會有議定變質的道理。

3. 彼時的風俗真m̄好。Pà-pek kap大的教士濟濟奢華快樂親像世俗人;相爭職任,thang領贖金;無讀聖冊,無愛講道理。也有設濟濟節氣教人守;有強抽百姓的錢。致到人看聖教做真重的擔,lóng無歡喜趁親像得著tháu放的款式。

有人流傳講A.. 1517,10月30暝,Sak-sū-nî ()國的公侯夢見,有一個修道人寫大字tī維敦埔()的禮拜堂,雖然相離開5 舖路的遠公侯iáu-kú會看見hiah-ê字;彼支筆也真長,有到羅馬城,振動pà-pek的冕旒!過日路德馬丁tī hit-ê拜堂的門有釘一張字樣記載95條的道理,teh辯駁免票的理氣。Tùi彼日thang算歸正的興起。(看史記II,11-16章。)

路德馬丁是sàn-hiong作穡人的kiáⁿ,出世1483,11月10號。伊的老父差伊去讀冊thang做辯護士;m̄-kú伊的良心醒,知罪,真驚,去做修道人。Tī-hia猶原無平安。A.. 1508 tī Ûi-tun-po͘做神學校的先生;A.. 1511去羅馬;tī-hia想著彼句「對信才會活」,心就平安。Tùi彼時不止對重恩典的道理,見若犯著這條的道理,伊定著愛辯駁。所以Thê-sìn來賣免票的時,路德出力辯論,sòa嫌pà-pek。Tī 1520年7月15號,pà-pek出詔擬路德;tī 12月第10號,路德tī市場將hit張詔燒lio去。

路德教拄著幾若項的阻擋。一項是彼時的作穡人真sàn,ná久ná艱苦。In本然已經幾若位有反叛bē成;tī 1527有較好膽結黨。In排列12條款in欲討,較濟卻是真公道,in所應該得著。總是國王m̄肯,差兵kap in相刣,有刣死5,0000人。這個代誌不止阻擋歸正的事。國王嫌路德講是對聽伊的道理百姓就想這個意思;百姓反轉嫌伊舖排公侯無體貼艱苦人。

又koh一項的阻擋是因為人傳彼號無法教,差不多親像保羅的時陣,m̄-kú較傷重。照in講信主的人無降服律法,也m̄免趁律法的話;逐人受聖神的感動就好。有的燒in的聖冊,因為m̄免看;講人講究學問是無路用;看輕洗禮,晚餐;講教會內m̄-thang設立人當職;百姓也m̄免降服官府。In嫌路德親像嫌羅馬教一樣。到逐所在入拜堂毀壞內面的物;四界不止擾亂。路德的學生有的受迷;伊本身出力kap in辯駁。官府也看in做謀反出力壓制;有的刑罰真慘。羅馬教的人講照路德的道理chiah-ê人是著,in較好膽激hit-ê理氣nā-tiāⁿ。公侯拄著這號事,有的也淡薄忍;驚了別日ná久ná會按呢。頂面所講hiah-ê作穡人也hō͘ in陷害;in受in的迷惑行錯,致到路德kap伊的朋友較m̄敢為in。

也有一項真可憐,也真厲害。有一個歸正的公侯伊的私慾大,常常愛去thit-thô。總是心內也艱苦;teh想若加娶一個某是較好濫糝thit-thô。照伊想舊約的時聖徒有娶幾若個;伊的婦人人若甘願káⁿ會做得。伊差人去請教路德kap伊的朋友;in應伊講,應該著家己約束;可惜也有講,若果然bē約束得。Koh娶一個是較贏濫糝thit-thô。公侯聽了koh娶一個婦人人(A.. 1540)。先生想了知錯;Mûi-lân-tun煩惱到欲死。無偌久人得著知,不止嫌in;夫人的親人也真受氣;公侯也著真細膩辦事,驚了若得罪皇帝,伊會擬伊死罪。照按呢看公侯若背教kap路德做對敵也是較好,較無阻擋聖教的進步。

羅馬教較興起也有幾若項的因端. 一項是in受勉勵,改換歹風俗,較細膩講道理。Koh一項是大窘逐歸正的人,或是用官兵,或是用O-chhat會。致到以大利,Su-pān-ngá,O-tē-lī-a的歸正教lóng hō͘ in剿滅。

也有設耶穌議會,刁工欲hō͘人lóng koh歸羅馬會。Ló-iô-lah Í-la̍h-tí-jû(1491-1556)是有爵位的Su-pān-ngá人,少年的時當兵,著傷;發熱的時看見馬利亞招伊做伊的工。伊就發願欲盡伊的力koh興起舊教。Tī 1540有設一個會,定著有這個意思。彼個會友真熱心,m̄-kú m̄好名聲;若會興起聖教就不管甚麼代誌in lóng敢做。In中間有一個不止出名的人,就是A-hui Hōan-ki(1506-1552);伊有來印度kap日本國傳教,也愛入中國,m̄-kú彼時無機會。人風聲講伊有行洗禮hō͘ 100,0000人。

路德tī德國teh傳教的時,Sū-eng-lī(1481-1531)tī瑞士國平平是傳彼號恩典的道理。路德歸正的事較出名較濟人有聽見講,m̄-kú瑞士國歸正的事也是大要緊。Sū-eng-lī少年的時讀冊,真興讀希利尼文kap聖冊;對按呢得著恩典的道理,m̄是對路德學的。Tī伊所蹛的所在有馬利亞的像會目,濟濟人去hia求醫病;Sū-eng-lī嫌hit-ê異端,勸in著信耶穌就夠額。也禁人m̄-thang買免票;其餘逐項的異端也棄絕。甘篤愛欲擋伊m̄-thang講;m̄-kú百姓請in議論兩pêng的道理,後來歡喜趁Sū-eng-lī。彼時瑞士國有濟濟省,逐省辦家己的代誌;從中有的趁舊款,有的愛換新;致到相刣,Sū-eng-lī hō͘人刣死。後來議定逐省著出在伊趁道理。現今瑞士國的百姓差不多六分是耶穌教的人。

In第一出名的先生是Kap-lîm約翰(,1509-1564)。伊是真gâu的法國人,本屬羅馬教;到23歲入耶穌教,tī Pa-lé-su拄著窘逐,著走去別位。Tī 1536有出一本冊排列耶穌教的道理,真大感激人的心;咱tī-hia所傳的道理較濟是照彼本的款式。後來去蹛tī瑞士國,Chià-nî-hoa城();tī-hia設嚴法約束百姓的風俗,出力傳道理。濟濟國的人到hia聽伊的教示。

Tī法國也有人愛歸正。國王kap pà-pek lóng愛阻擋,也常常窘逐,bat一擺刣死4000 gōa人,沓沓掠人燒死。總是濟濟人趁,有的有爵位的人,從中有水師提督,高利尼(),不止出名。後來兩pêng相刣,頭尾差不多十擺。耶穌教hit pêng ê人叫做Hú-chu-ná (Hugoenoch) ê人。Tī 1572,8月23暝,大家相和ê時,國王暗靜差兵刣死耶穌教ê人,hit暝tī Pa-lê-su刣死4000人,從中高利尼hō͘ in刣。後來四界刣,計共刣死7,0000人。八月24日是巴多羅買ê節日;人用伊ê名來賀hit-ê事。Pà-pek聽了真歡喜;tī羅馬城有點燈,放銃,迎鬧熱,鑄牌來數念。近來天主教ê人較見笑,較無愛講起。
